Project Number 2 this weekend. With custom wine cork, egyptian jewel bettle wing, brass findings, lapis lazuli, green garnet, labradorite and Swarovski crystals.

Thumbprint Watermelon for a Baby Shower



One of my many projects this weekend. The watermelon seeds will be the fingerprints of the people who come to celebrate with the new-mom-to-be. :)

Fae Puppet - The First Few Steps

I finally started on the road to learning how to make puppets!
Here is what I did today with wire, aluminium foil and polymer clay.

The next steps will involve fibers (hair,) paint, sewing clothes and figuring out the puppeteering bit with the string...

Teaching Myself to Make Knotted Jewelry

I have spent a long time pondering the art of the knotted necklacfe. It is somewhat of a lost art and I have been too intimidated to give it a try until now! I am fairly pleased with the results...

Finished Bead Embroidery Necklace - Serephinite and Owl

I spent quite a bit of time in the studio this weekend and finshed the owl necklace I started last week among other things. I am very pleased with how it turned out. The stones used include raw garnet, kyanite, fossilized coral, lapis lazuli and malachite.

New Piece in Progress

The opening went well and now I am hitting the ground running with a new project.
This will probably be my last beaded piece for a while while I transition into working with puppets and more sculptural artworks!

This necklace-to-be features a beautiful serephinite cabochon and a ceramic owl by Laura Mears.
